Target group

Wind-power technicians.
The participant shall be at least 18 years of age.

Course Goal

Following successful completion of the course, the participant shall:
Have knowledge of relevant laws and standards for working on wind-power turbines
Have knowledge about how Personal Fall Protection
Equipment is correctly used:
- Full-body harness
- Fall arrest lanyard
- Work positioning lanyard
- Self-retracting lifeline
- Fall arrest shuttle – cable system
- Fall arrest shuttle - rail system
Understand the importance of a proper safety plan, risk assessment, rescue plan
Understanding of what happens in a fall



What happens in a fall?
What does the relevant Health & Safety law say?
Liability and responsibilities of the employer and employee?
What does the relevant Work Environment Authority say?
What are CE and EN markings?
Safety plan, risk assessment, rescue plan
What can be used as an anchorage point?
What equipment is used and how is it maintained?
Knowledge of the weather's influence
Work planning

Practical exercise

Correct use of Personal Fall Protection Equipment
Climbing techniques
Use of sliding shuttle on wire and rail systems
Lowering persons in distress
Single-handed evacuation
Lifting loads


There is a written test at the end of the course.
A certificate is awarded following successful completion of the course.

Cresto reserves the right to cancel the course if the number of participants is less than 3 persons. If so, we will inform you one week before that start of the course.
