CRAV – Cresto Rope Access vertical

Target group

This course prepares the candidate for authorization to CRAV, Cresto Rope Access Vertical.

Course Goals

On successfully passing the exam the candidate can:
Inspect your own equipment and rope system
Climb, descend and move between ropes in a 2-rope system.
The candidate will be able to rig their own rope system
Carry out simple rescues tasks

Content

Theory/Practical Exercise

Safety and Theoretical knowledge

Understanding of different access methods and the risks
Understanding of different access methods and the risks
Toolbox
Understanding of "Safety checks"
Communication
Access, Hazard and Safe zones
Knowledge of inspection, use and limitations of equipment

Knots and Rigging skills

Knots: figure-of-eight and, double- eight, Alpine butterfly knot and Barrel knot
Knots: figure-of-eight and, double- eight, Alpine butterfly knot and Barrel knot
Rigging: Single anchor point and simple two-point anchors
Basic understanding of fall factors and impact forces

Practical Rope Access

Climb/descend and negotiate an edge
Climb/descend and negotiate an edge
Tool change, shift from descent device to rope climbs
Redirects
Mast climbing: use of snap hooks with fall arrester, and an understanding of the most common fall protection systems

Rescue

Understand the importance of a good rescue plan, action description and risk analysis
Understand the importance of a good rescue plan, action description and risk analysis
Rescuing a person in distress using rope systems
Basics of lowering systems

Miscellaneous

To make sure quality is made there will be an validation of the course participant. The validation is both practically and theoretically. After completing the course, the participant received a certificate.
